About Me

Based in Wellington, NZ I am a part time creative and a full time corporate girlie. I like many a Wellington girl, love to cafe hop, drink copious amounts of coffee/matcha and often frequent all of the thrift stores. You will most likely catch me spending my time with my stunning girlfriend, who is the light of my life! I love to travel, read, write and illustrate. The last couple years I have really explored my creative side, which led me to opening up this site and the monthly mail club. I have always loved the idea of a little community and it took a leap of faith to create my own, but here we are!!

My Inspiration

I remember receiving my first letter in the mail. Not a birthday card for me that was addressed to my parents, but a letter with my full name and address on the front.

I was 10 and god was I excited. You see my most precious person in the world had moved away. When you are so small and your best friend that you spent all of your time with is not there anymore, it feels so life altering. There was no constant communication through text or socials… she was just gone. So when I got my first letter in the box and saw her name as the sender on the back, the excitement was visceral. I remember running through the house and up the stairs, catapulting to my desk. Inside was evidence of the girl I knew so well. A hand written letter, photos and drawings. She told me stories of her life, her new school, what she loved and what she didn’t. Seeing glimpses of her new life in the only way I could back then, was pure magic to me. In turn I wrote back. Thus beginning a tradition that lasted a for very long time.

Now I know I’m not a 10 year old girl anymore and none of you readers are either. But I hope these envelopes filled with words, art, photos and life, sparks a little bit of magic in you as it did in me all those years ago. Something tangible you can hold in your hand, knowing that somewhere someone wrote it and that people in all different places are reading the same words as you. A bit of community and joy that we can all share.

My inbox is always open of course, if you are ever inspired to write back.
